The Power of Compliments

It's Pay a Compliment Day! Giving and receiving compliments sets off a chain of positive effects, according to this article in Psychology Today. You’ve probably experienced first-hand the way a well-timed, heartfelt kind word can turn your mood around.

Perhaps this is because we don’t necessarily see ourselves objectively. When we look in the mirror, we tend to search for flaws; when we review our work, it’s to see where we might improve. Rarely do we sit back and allow ourselves to be satisfied with our lives and bodies exactly as they are.

In celebration of the transformative effects of a compliment, we thought we’d share with you some of ones we’ve received of late. And to those of you who are the compliment givers (you know who you are!), we are so grateful for the love.

“Smells so fresh! Cleans and rinses well. Love that it is organic and not filled with chemicals or toxins…”

“Refreshing and uplifting!”

“This by far the best hand soap I have ever used, the fragrance is pleasant and only a small amount is needed. Excellent product!”

“Just lovely. This soap cleans thoroughly without my hands feeling and looking dry. The scent is so invigorating. Good for you!”

“It’s SO hard to find a good, natural, and delightful smelling body moisturizer. This lotion is seriously the bomb. Light, yet hydrating. It has an amazing texture and is easily absorbed into the skin.”

“When I opened the bottle and smelled the oil, I felt like I was at a tropical spa. It smells so uplifting yet delicate and pure. It feels so good when I massage it into my skin. I highly recommend this oil, true bliss.”

Now let us return the favor: we couldn’t do this without you! Your support and enthusiasm is why we get out of bed in the morning, and our Plastic-free mission would not be possible without you in our lives. Thank you for being your beautiful, magnificent self.

What is the best compliment you can recall getting?  What's the biggest compliment you can give someone?

Happy #SustainableSelfCareSunday! May you give and receive plenty of praise today.
