SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

BEAUTY + PURPOSE

You’ve probably noticed some changes here at Pangea Organics. Our packaging has a new look, we’ve updated and added some exciting new formulations, and we’ve freshened up our website for a more seamless and satisfying shopping experience.

Just like in nature, there is purpose behind all of our choices. While the design of our new packaging is beautiful (forgive our lack of modesty), it also furthers our ongoing commitment to steward the leading edge of sustainability in the beauty industry.

We are proud to announce that Pangea Organics is the first company in the world to use 100% Sugarcane Bio-Resin in all of our plastic tubes.

In case you’ve never heard of Sugarcane Bio-resin, it is an alternative to petroleum-based polyethylene resin. Making this switch reduces the need for non-sustainable raw materials and helps lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Our new tubes are manufactured in a LEED Certified facility in the United States. They require no secondary packaging (like boxes), which creates a huge reduction in shipping components and paper use, and substantially reduces our carbon footprint.

We have spent decades cultivating relationships with organic farmers whose lives and land are dedicated to growing the most nutrient-dense, organic ingredients available. It's clear that our packaging should be held to the same standards.

We hope you enjoy our new look, and most of all, the dramatically lightened footprint we leave when we bring you the world’s finest, organic Skincare, Bodycare, Lip Care, and Essential Oils.

How To Recycle Our Sugarcane Bio-resin Tubes

Just like an unwashed food container can’t be properly recycled, the same holds true for Skin and Bodycare containers. Here are a few tips that will help ensure that your well-loved Pangea packaging makes its great journey to your local recycling facility:

1. Unscrew cap from tube

2. Cut tube in half with scissors

3. Rinse out all remaining product from tube pieces and cap

4. Place clean cap and tube pieces in your recycling bin

5. Congratulate yourself for making great choices!

Our Boxes Have Eco-Credibility

Fun fact: when we repackaged, we were able to reduce our packaging footprint on many of our Skincare products! This is because we switched to Sugarcane Bio-resin tubes for several formulas. Sugarcane Bio-resin has multiple eco-benefits, as you’ll read about on this page. Because some of our products are best kept in glass bottles, are petite (but powerful) in size, or hold multiple units—such as Balancing Oil, Body Oil, Eye Cream, and Lip Balm Case Packs, respectively—they require an outer layer of packaging. We are pleased to let you know that this paper packaging also boasts great eco-credentials:

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)® Certified – Our secondary packaging is sourced from socially beneficial, environmentally responsible, and sustainably managed forests that are FSC Certified

Made with Wind Energy – The factory that manufactures our product cartons is powered by Wind Energy, a source of clean, non-polluting electricity that does not produce greenhouse gasses

Zero Waste Facility – We are proud to work with a facility which recycles 100% of the paper waste from its box production

Plant-based Inks – All of our product cartons are printed with plant-based inks

Recyclable – Our secondary packaging is 100% recyclable (so please recycle)
